18 October 2021, 12:30-14:00 UK time
Our first meetup for this academic year is hosted by Nathalie Tasler @drntasler from the University of Glasgow, Kate Rowlands from the University of Manchester and features a special guest Curie Scott @DrDr_CurieScott!
The first 30 minutes of the event features social time for getting to know each other, group problem solving and ‘off piste’ discussions! This will be followed by a short workshop from Curie on drawing for learning, particularly during and beyond the pandemic.
Drawing has rich connection with learning though less so in Higher Education. During COVID, we have had to rapidly adjust to teaching through a screen. Drawing opens up a rich interactive space both face to face or online for HE practice. Bring any examples of drawing used in your discipline (and come even if you don’t have any examples!); a pen and some paper.
Curie’s PhD research focused on drawing as a thinking tool to think about our future old age. This interactive session will draw upon research and practice from her new book on Drawing for Health and Wellbeing, a practical book for the public and professionals.
