#creativeHE annual 2022 open invitation to contribute

Say it with a story

The #creativeHE Annual Collection 2022

We are looking for mini-narratives or short stories by educators and students about their teaching and learning experiences in 2021/2022.

Each story can be between 300 to 500 words accompanied by one high resolution visual (300 dpi). This can be a drawing you made or a picture you took. Please avoid using images by others. Each contribution needs to fit on one A4 page. So less is definitely more. Think about it like a story for a picture book, a poem or a song. We welcome diverse formats. A seed of inspiration for your story can also come from our cover. How wonderful would it be to have multiple stories and poems based on it ;).

Your story should relate to something new you discovered this year and illustrate what it changed for you in your role as an educator or student. This can be something tiny or big. It is up to you. Remember, even mini changes can have a huge impact.

We encourage contributors to use a story format with a beginning, a middle and an end, not necessarily in this order. Think about what will make your story captivating. Make your characters memorable and help the reader to be transported into your storyworld.

Remember to accompany your image with one or two sentences that say clearly what the image depicts. Avoid starting with “This is an image of…” This will be used for accessibility purposes. Add your high resolution image to your folder as well.

The deadline to submit your story is the 30th of October 2022. If you would like to submit something please fill out this mini form with your name and email we can use to give you access to the collaborative writing space.
