Call for Contributions from Higher Education Practitioners

After the popularity of our first #creativeHE crowdsourced open publication 101 Creative Ideas to Use AI in Education (https://zenodo.org/record/8072950), we felt that there is an appetite and an opportunity to put a further collection together that focuses on learning resources that professionals working in Higher Education are generating using GenAI tools or that explicitly ask students to use GenAI.

This call is an open invitation to all Higher Education practitioners to put a collection of creative ideas together for designing learning resources using GenAI tools such as ChatGPT, DALL-E 2 and Midjourney and other ones in the classroom to foster student engagement,  community-building and learning. You may even have used GenAI to generate a resource for assessment, one that fosters accessibility and inclusion – or, one that encourages students to use GenAI for their learning.

While the resources shared might be in their embryonic stage, these should be worth exploring through active and creative inquiry and have been ‘trialled’ in the classroom, with students.

The aim of this collection is to inspire other professionals in Higher Education in a range of roles, disciplines and professional areas on possible uses of GenAI in their classes and/or with students through creating learning resources.

Experimentation is at the heart of education. Seeing what others do, experiment with and achieve with AI will help us make novel connections that can lead to new discoveries and insights to make a positive contribution to our world.

Ideas grow ideas! (see 101 Creative Ideas to Use AI in Education).

The set of creative learning resources will be made available as an Open Educational Resource (OER) via the #creativeHE website and Zenodo. It will be released under the Creative Commons License CC-BY-NC-SA for wider use. Therefore, please only contribute if you agree that your idea will be shared using this particular licence agreement.

Note: Only the contributor’s own work will be released under the open license. Anything generated by GenAI will not fall under this license as the original source(s) GenAI is drawing upon can not be identified or traced.

THIS CALL IS NOW CLOSED.
