Call for Contributions: Students in Higher Education

After the popularity of our first #creativeHE crowdsourced open publication 101 Creative Ideas to Use AI in Education (https://zenodo.org/record/8072950), we felt that there is an appetite and an opportunity to put a further collection together that focuses on how students in Higher Education are using GenAI tools to create learning outputs.

This call is an open invitation to Higher Education students, individually or in collaboration with other students or education professionals. You are invited to contribute to co-create a collection of learning outputs using GenAI tools such as ChatGPTDALL-E 2Midjourney and other tools.

Eligibility: All students from various disciplines and educational backgrounds are encouraged to participate. Outputs to be shared might be based on course work, (final year) projects, dissertation/thesis research, workshops and seminar participation, paper, presentation, or any other educational material created with the assistance of GenAI. Crucially, learning outputs need to make active and creative use of GenAI. We are particularly interested in the process students follow to reach those outputs.

There are 3 types of submission:

  • Individual submission by a Higher Education student;
  • Group submission by two or more Higher Education students;
  • Joint submission by one or more Higher Education students and one or more Education Professionals (tutor, lecturer, advisor, etc).

The aim of this collection is to inspire other students – and educators – on how they might integrate and use GenAI in their classes – a showcase of all the amazing things that can be done with GenAI.

Experimentation is at the heart of education. Seeing what others do and achieve with GenAI will help us make novel connections that can lead to new discoveries and insights to make a positive contribution to our world.
