#creativeHE meetup 2023/24: Inclusive approaches and multidisciplinary play, 17 Jan 24

We are delighted to invite you to a #creativeHE meetup with Ana Souto and Roger Saunders.

Ana will explore the potential of creative practices to engage with Inclusive Teaching practices, especially around Decolonising the Curriculum and using live projects as Authentic Assessments in design courses. This participatory session will start with a brief discussion on essential concepts (diasporic identities; decolonising knowledge; intangible heritage and participatory methods); followed by a group task where participants will be invited to draw their intangible heritage, to be shared with the group. A final discussion will acknowledge the challenges and opportunities that accompany these kinds of projects, reflecting on a project completed in October 2023 (Outreach to Ownership).

Roger will then introduce participants to the use and flexibility of card games as a means of learning. It will cover everything from single user generated cards to complete deck building games. It is based on a multi-disciplinary approach and includes both novel created activities and adapted existing ones. The objective by the end is to help colleagues identify potential uses and offer both advice and practical support to them after the event.
